A Complete Brand Refresh Accelerating Team Workflow
ThirdEye is an anti money laundering SaaS product that helps businesses fight financial crime. While competitors lead with features and technical detail, ThirdEye’s new messaging shifts to a customer first approach, with the tagline “Your partner in fighting financial crime."
The Challenge
The old brand was dated and no longer cutting through. The communications team had exhausted the image library and were reusing the same visuals across emails and events. They needed a more dynamic brand with a refreshed set of resources and templates. With a small design team, bottlenecks at the design stage slowed workflows and output across the business. Overall the process was reactive and they needed a more proactive and scalable approach.
The Solution
For the rebrand I worked closely with the team at ThirdEye to ensure the new identity aligned with their needs and communicated their message effectively. Partnering with external agency Previously Unavailable, a new suite of logos and a visual identity was created, defined by warm, trusting and human colours with an art direction that could scale across all touch points.
Over a 5 month period as design lead I collaborated with marketing, design and product teams to deliver a full brand rollout. Using the new direction I created an extensive library of brand assets and templates that empowered teams to create communications at a high and consistent standard, aligned to the brand guidelines.
Website
The website was the first major piece in defining how the brand came together. It showcases colour combinations, imagery, iconography and animation across a 50+ page experience.
The process included an audit of existing content, analysis of user personas, site maps and information architecture. Initial wireframes captured the core page templates. A comprehensive design system was then established with components, colours, text styles, spacing and design tokens to ensure scalability and consistency. High fidelity designs and full documentation were created for developer handover including prototyped pages to demonstrate component interaction and animation.
Templates and Assets
An extensive asset library was created to allow marketing and other teams to autonomously produce documents, presentations and communications without relying on design.
Product documents, fact sheets and e-books were developed. EDM templates were designed and built in HubSpot, with all image styles such as thumbnails, colour treatments and graphic templates created in Figma Buzz. This gave marketing end to end control to create on brand imagery and emails. Event banners and merchandise were also designed with flexible options for different events.
Video and Animation
The brand video direction and design were outsourced to freelance designers, and we worked closely with them to extend our brand messaging with a creative concept built around things that pair well together. Direction was provided on transitions, footage selection and a staff video shoot to get the final shot right.
Internally I created a set of animated intros and outros along with templated chapter slides and lower thirds. Brand libraries and templates were set up in Riverside.com to allow teams to create webinars and podcasts with minimal design support.
Design Direction
Throughout the project we collaborated with agencies, developers and freelance designers producing a wide range of assets. I ensured all work met a high standard and stayed on brand, contributing to briefs and maintaining clear communication across all teams.
Results
Over 5 months I partnered with the team at ThirdEye to design and launch a new 50+ page website, supported by a complete suite of brand assets that fully automated team workflows and elevated brand communications. For the first time they have a comprehensive brand library and clear guidelines that set them up for future success.
Client Testimonial
Nick joined us mid-2025 to lead design on ThirdEye's complete rebrand, one of the biggest and most important projects of the year for us. Having worked at ThirdEye previously, he was able to jump straight in, which proved invaluable given the scope and timeline we were working to.
What immediately stood out was Nick's flexibility and commitment. Working remotely with a distributed team across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and India, he structured his schedule to work primarily nights, creating overlap with our working hours.
Nick was integral to developing our new visual identity from our brand positioning work. Partnering with our New Zealand-based brand agency, he contributed both strategically and practically, helping translate our new positioning into a distinctive, ownable visual system.
From August onwards, his focus shifted to implementation, and the breadth of what he delivered is quite remarkable. Responsive website design, sales collateral, social media assets, document templates, email signatures, photography and videography guidelines, event materials from branded coffee cups to backwalls. If it needed designing, Nick designed it.
Beyond the creative output, Nick established the systems that will serve us long-term. He built comprehensive, organised template libraries in Figma for both our development team and marketing team to use, which has been critical for maintaining consistency as we scale.
Nick is also simply excellent to work with: collaborative, responsive, and genuinely invested in getting things right. I'd work with him again without hesitation.
